Gain a specialty/hard skill that can contribute in ways that the job description might not require. Business analytics was a great skill in my role within a team of purely event professionals.

I did the Disney College Program and it was amazing but it is one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. My best piece of advice would be to learn what you enjoy so you can take care of yourself when life gets busy.

The Disney college internship programmed broaden my horizons in life. I was able to meet, and learn about so many different people cultures and languages. The added bonus was being in Disney world everyday. The experience was a lifetime opportunity and if I could do it again I would.

The one thing I wish was different was I wish I was there longer.
Advice
Take the risk and go for our. Don’t be afraid because it’s not a local internship, have an open mind and live your best life because you do not know when this opportunity will strike again.

If I could redo it I would have lived off disney property from the start. It was nice as a college dorm but for someone who hadn't had to share a room with another student in over 3 years prior, I didnt care for it.

What I liked
I loved my hotel and all of my co-workers. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. Our managers were always available when we had any questions. Another huge perk was getting into all the Disney parks for free. It was an incredible experience and I cannot recommend it enough.
What I wish was different
I would not change one thing about my experience, I loved my placement, my co-workers and my roommates. Not everyone has this same experience, however. Your placement can really make or break your experience.
Advice
Definitely make the most of it. Take advantages of the free access to the parks, discounts, and behind the scenes tour experiences.

I loved working for Disney World at the front desk of Old Key West Resort! I loved all of the guests and coworkers I met along the way, along with the experience I gained in hotel systems!

I wish I could’ve stayed down there for longer. It would be cool to do a program where you have a return date after you graduate.
Advice
Disney is amongst the best hospitality companies in the world! The work experience you gain while working there will help you with any job! It’s Disney World, any job is an awesome job while working there!

Enjoy your time while you're there. Take in every moment and don't waste a minute focusing on what could go wrong. At the same time, do remember that this is still a job! You're there to work and then have fun.
