I wish I could have stayed there longer but the summer is only so long.

Advice

Always keep an open-mind for places that may not be related to what your major is but they are still good for the community.

Community Services Intern

June - August 2019 • New York City, NY

What I liked

I liked being in a small office and getting hands-on experience in public service.

What I wish was different

I wish there were less interns and more hours per intern. My office made us all work part-time in the summer and I feel like I could've contributed more.

Advice

Take initiative! Staff in these offices have extensive workloads and contributing an idea, offering help with a task, or stating interest in a specific area will help them find projects that fit you well.
