CCE Site Visit Program: Washington, D.C. & San Francisco (Spring 2025)

 

What is the Site Visit Program?

The CCE Site Visit Program is a unique career exploration opportunity tailored for undergraduate students from Columbia College, the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, and the School of General Studies. The program is designed to provide a window into the professional world, allowing students to immerse themselves in the realities of various industries. Participants will have the chance to interact directly with alumni and professionals, gaining first-hand insights into industry-specific practices. 

Program Dates: Spring Break 2025 (March 17-21, 2025)
Travel to Washington, D.C. or San Francisco: March 16, 2025

Eligibility:

You must be a full-time undergraduate student at Columbia College, the Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science, or the School of General Studies. You must be a currently registered student in good academic and disciplinary standing. International students are eligible to participate. The Site Visit Program is considered career exploration and does not count as off-campus employment.  Students on leave of absence or who have withdrawn from Columbia University are not eligible.

Program Coverage: The program includes most meals, program-related inter-city transport, and overnight accommodations in Washington, D.C. or San Francisco from Sunday evening, March 16 to Friday, March 21.  Students may be required to cover some personal expenses.  

Travel Arrangements: Students are expected to manage and cover the costs of round-trip transportation to Washington, D.C. or San Francisco. Financial assistance is available for students currently on financial aid.

Step 2: Upload your unofficial transcript (this is just a copy of your spring course schedule from SSOL. You can copy and paste your spring course schedule into a Word document and upload that as your transcript).

  1. Please indicate which Site Visit Program you are applying to (Washington, D.C. or San Francisco)
  2. If you would like to be considered for both Washington, D.C. and San Francisco Site Visit Programs, please rank your preference.
  3. In one or two paragraphs, please indicate why are you interested in participating in the Site Visit Program, and what you hope to learn from the experience.
