Spring 2023 - L.O.V.E. Program Intern - CCE Internships+

This internship is offered through the CCE Internships+ Program at Columbia University. This is a CCE Sponsored Internship Program in which interns participate in professional development programming alongside their internship. All students must be currently enrolled. Funding is available for select unpaid and low paid opportunities at not-for-profit organizations. All students must be currently enrolled. Stipend Amount:
Virtual internships are eligible for a stipend of $600. In-person or hybrid internships are eligible for a stipend of $1,000.

The Latinas On the Verge of Excellence - L.O.V.E. Mentoring Program supports and empowers young Latinas to strive both in school and in life by providing positive role models. L.O.V.E. is currently looking for an intern who will assist in the development and implementation of the program.

Responsibilities
  • Help plan, implement and facilitate L.O.V.E. mentoring sessions
  • Provide direct support to students at partner schools by referring them to services (i.e. tutoring, SAT prep, homework help etc.)
  •  Assist with data entry and conduct L.O.V.E. Mentoring Program evaluations
  •  Provide direct support with organization's projects and tasks
  • Communicate effectively with L.O.V.E. Mentoring Program Coordinators and Manager

Qualifications
  •  University student
  •  GPA: 3.0 and above
  •  Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  •  Strong organizational, project management and presentation skills
  •  Creative capacity
  •  Be proficient in MS Office applications (Word/Excel/Powerpoint) and Google Drive

Schedule:
  • Semester long, 10-15 hours per week (three days per week preferred). Length of internship and hours per week flexible depending upon the requirements of your program
  • Preferable if intern has their own laptop, but not required

International students (F1) need to secure US employment authorization. When considering applying for a position, you should connect with your Academic Advisor and ISSO to determine the process. Pre-Completion OPT (Optional Practical Training – USCIS processing may take 3-5 months) or CPT (Curricular Practical Training – ISSO will process within 2-3 weeks). You must have either the OPT EAD approval, or the CPT approval to begin your internship on the agreed upon start date.
