Spring 2023 Climate Action & Arts - Social Media Internship - CCE Internships+

This internship is offered through the CCE Internships+ Program at Columbia University. This is a CCE Sponsored Internship Program in which interns participate in professional development programming alongside their internship. All students must be currently enrolled. Funding is available for select unpaid and low paid opportunities at not-for-profit organizations. All students must be currently enrolled. Stipend Amount:
Virtual internships are eligible for a stipend of $600. In-person or hybrid internships are eligible for a stipend of $1,000.

Earth Celebrations is a non-profit organization based on the Lower East Side of New York City applying the inspirational power of the arts to build community, collaboration and action
to generate ecological, policy and social change.

Earth Celebrations' social media internship is available to work on our social media outreach for the ECOLOGICAL CITY: Art & Climate Solutions Action Project. Ecological City applies our pioneering creative placemaking and cultural organizing strategies on the Lower East Side of New York City to engage community on climate solutions and ecological sustainability initiatives throughout the community gardens, neighborhood and waterfront, and their importance to city and global climate challenges.

Community residents collaborate with our artists-in-residents and environmental experts through workshops developing visual arts and performance projects exploring neighborhood sites and their climate solution initiatives and urban planning challenges. Works are featured in a culminating theatrical pageant with a procession and 20 site performances throughout the neighborhood.

Seeking interns with skills, interest and background: civic engagement, community outreach,
advocacy/activism, creative placemaking, artistic activism, theatrical/arts/event production, logistics management, graphic and web design, social media, photography/video and interest in the arts, community organizing, environmental, urban planning, activism and climate issues.

4 hours per week time commitment

International students (F1) need to secure US employment authorization. When considering applying for a position, you should connect with your Academic Advisor and ISSO to determine the process. Pre-Completion OPT (Optional Practical Training – USCIS processing may take 3-5 months) or CPT (Curricular Practical Training – ISSO will process within 2-3 weeks). You must have either the OPT EAD approval, or the CPT approval to begin your internship on the agreed upon start date.
