Population Health Analyst

Overview of the Role:

We are currently recruiting for a high-performing analytics and data science professional to join our rapidly growing Population Health Analytics team. The team is developing a purpose-driven analytics platform to maximize the health of our patients and the performance of our physicians using data science principles and proprietary applications. Candidates will work cross functionally within the team, gaining exposure to projects across the following areas:

  • Value-Based Payer Partnership Performance
    • Calculate key performance metrics
    • Apply data mining techniques to identify medical/Rx cost and utilization drivers
  • Clinical Analytics
    • Report quality measures performance, identifying opportunities to close care gaps
    • Analyze clinical operations team productivity and patient engagement metrics
    • Develop, model and test clinical rules for automation in rules engine and clinical workflows
  • Network Analytics
    • Identify referral relationships to track patient journeys
    • Build physician profiles to identify performance outliers
    • Identify network and access gaps to support network development
  • Data Intelligence
    • Collaborate closely with IT leadership, engineers and 3rd parties to enhance our SQL data platform, semantic layers, and BI tool (MicroStrategy) to enable scalable, multi-market content distribution
    • Inform data transformation rules and quality assurance scenarios to improve normalization of disparate data into common formats, identify issues and define requirements for workarounds
    • Become a data SME on data from payers, EMRs, ADTs, and other vendors

Successful candidates will have the following preferred attributes:

  • Exceptionally strong critical thinking and problem solving abilities with a track record of identifying insights from quantitative and qualitative data
  • Ability to create compelling visual presentations that tell a story
  • Ability to translate unstructured business, clinical, and contractual concepts into a structured process to query data, with keen sense of how to balance accuracy and efficiency
  • Works collaboratively in a fast-paced, unstructured environment, managing competing deadlines, and adapts to evolving responsibilities
  • Ability to build relationships, consensus, and trust with key business stakeholders across markets and Brighton holding companies
  • Inquisitive, driven, self-starter who takes initiative and knows when to seek guidance
  • An entrepreneurial spirit, comfortable working within startup culture

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, with a quantitative major (e.g. actuarial, statistics, economics, engineering, computer science, operations research, applied math) or healthcare (health administration, public health, medicine)
  • Must comply with all HIPAA rules and regulations
