Summer Sales Intern - CEO London

This internship is offered through the Columbia Experience Overseas (CEO) program. To learn more about CEO, go to http://www.careereducation.columbia.edu/findajob/cce-internship/ceo. All CEO 2017 internships will be posted on LionSHARE during the Fall 2016 semester and January 2017 on a rolling basis. To find CEO internship postings, search under the Internships tab on LionSHARE, and use the “Label” function. You may apply to up to eight (8) positions of interest across all CEO locations (Amman, Beijing, Hong Kong, London, Mumbai, Shanghai, Seoul, and Singapore).  Having your resume and cover letter reviewed by a CCE counselor is strongly recommended before applying. There are at least two required components to all CEO position applications and potentially more as requested by each employer as outlined below :

  2. Transcript (This is your spring course schedule which you should access by logging onto Student Services Online, clicking on “My Schedule” and copying and pasting your Spring 2017 course schedule into a Microsoft Word Document. The schedule should show your full name, your school, your Spring 2017 Courses, and your enrollment status.)
  3. Cover Letter (if required, click Apply Now and check for required documents)
  4. Other materials (ex: Writing Sample, etc. if required, click Apply Now and check for required documents)

Job description:
The MotionPoint Sales department is seeking an intern to work at our London office over the summer break. Challenging tasks are offered to our interns every week in a comprehensive, paid internship program.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in a Software Sales and Marketing career to learn business-to-business sales concepts and techniques while gaining hands on experience.

Duties and learning objectives:
• Research: Identify companies who fit MotionPoint’s ideal client profile and people at those companies that fit defined personas.
• Sales Assistance: Assist the sales team with the prospecting and sales process.
• Record Maintenance: Work with customer relationship management (CRM) and salesforce automation (SFA) tools.
• Business Reporting: Run reports to measure different aspects of the business.

Desired skills and experience:
• College junior with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Discipline to be consistently well-prepared for the task at hand.
• Research skills.
• Some experience initiating and leading successful conversations with new prospective clients/customers in any setting (school, work or personal life).
• Presentation skills to small groups of people.
• Demonstrated persistence and patience in achieving success in a competitive environment.
