Summer FSO Advisory Intern- CEO Singapore

This internship is offered through the Columbia Experience Overseas (CEO) program. To learn more about CEO, go to http://www.careereducation.columbia.edu/findajob/cce-internship/ceo. All CEO 2017 internships will be posted on LionSHARE during the Fall 2016 semester and January 2017 on a rolling basis. To find CEO internship postings, search under the Internships tab on LionSHARE, and use the “Label” function. You may apply to up to eight (8) positions of interest across all CEO locations (Amman, Beijing, Hong Kong, London, Mumbai, Shanghai, Seoul, and Singapore).  Having your resume and cover letter reviewed by a CCE counselor is strongly recommended before applying. There are at least two required components to all CEO position applications and potentially more as requested by each employer as outlined below :

Transcript (This is your spring course schedule which you should access by logging onto Student Services Online, clicking on “My Schedule” and copying and pasting your Spring 2017 course schedule into a Microsoft Word Document. The schedule should show your full name, your school, your Spring 2017 Courses, and your enrollment status.)
  3. Cover Letter (if required, click Apply Now and check for required documents)
  4. Other materials (ex: Writing Sample, etc. if required, click Apply Now and check for required documents)

The CEO program runs June 12- August 4, 2017. Submit your completed applications via LionSHARE by Sunday, February 12, 2017.

About the opportunity
EY’s FSO Advisory practice has an exciting opportunity for highly motivated penultimate students to join our Summer 2017 LEAP Internship Program in May 2017. FSO Advisory interns enjoy opportunities to serve diverse clients across multiple practices, while being provided learning, experiences and coaching to develop core consulting skills.

FSO Advisory interns will be deployed across both our Performance Improvement and Risk Management practices.

When working on Performance Improvement projects you will provide our clients an independent view of their organization’s business risks and areas of improvement. You will help develop pragmatic plans to enhance organization, products, processes and system, address issues and assist with implementing measurable and sustainable performance enhancements through the key service areas:
• Operation Excellence
• IT Advisory
• Customer and Digital, and
• Finance

When working on Financial Risk Management projects you will advise financial institutions, insurance and asset management firms on identifying, measuring and managing financial risk from regulatory and industry perspective. You will help experienced subject matter experts and thought leaders in building financial risk frameworks and models and deliver targeted solutions to address our client needs. Our key service areas are:
• Risk governance and strategy,
• Risk management process and models
• Actuarial
• Regulatory compliance and reporting
• Internal audit and controls

Responsibilities of a FSO Advisory intern may include:
• Understanding and documenting clients’ business processes and requirements, performing root cause analysis, developing business cases and interviewing various resources to gather required information
• Demonstrating the ability to digest, incorporate and leverage new knowledge. Possessing good business acumen.
• Taking full responsibility for tasks, including consistent self-review of work to identify and improve an approach for producing high quality work products, while working under supervision
About you
We’re looking for people with the following experience:

• Penultimate students pursuing a bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Economics, MIS (emphasis on Business), Supply Chain, Operations Management, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Operations Research, IT Security, Information Systems, Information Technology, Technology Risk, Computer Engineering or related technology disciplines
• Strong academic record, including, without limitation, course work that EY deems relevant to this position
• Desire to work in consulting demonstrated by relevant course work, interest or internship experience
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient with MS Office, including MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint
• Willing and able to learn and work independently with minimal supervision
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective organization and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to project deadlines
• Integrity within a professional environment
