Summer Intern- CEO Beijing

This internship is offered through the Columbia Experience Overseas (CEO) program.  To learn more about CEO, go to http://www.careereducation.columbia.edu/findajob/cce-internship/ceo.  All CEO 2017 internships will be posted on LionSHARE during the Fall 2016 semester and January 2017 on a rolling basis.  To find CEO internship postings, search under the Internships tab on LionSHARE, and use the “Label” function. You may apply to up to eight (8) positions of interest across all CEO locations (Amman, Beijing, Hong Kong, London, Mumbai, Shanghai, Seoul, and Singapore).  Having your resume and cover letter reviewed by a CCE counselor is strongly recommended before applying.  Quick Questions is scheduled at CCE M-F 1pm – 4pm.  Visit www.careereducation.columbia.edu/calendar to see the schedule of CCE Summer Internship Programs information sessions where you can learn more about the CEO program.

There are at least two required components to all CEO position applications and potentially more as requested by each employer as outlined below :

The following documents must be submitted through LionSHARE for each position of interest:

  1. Resume
  2. Transcript (This is your spring course schedule which you should access by logging onto Student Services Online, clicking on “My Schedule” and copying and pasting your Spring 2017 course schedule into a Microsoft Word Document. The schedule should show your full name, your school, your Spring 2017 Courses, and your enrollment status.)
  3. Cover Letter (if required, click Apply Now and check for required documents)
  4. Other materials (ex: Writing Sample, etc. if required, click Apply Now and check for required documents)

Due West Internship:

Seeking an environment of young, entrepreneurial, and passionate coworkers from around the world? Hoping to enter the rapidly evolving and expanding field of international education? Wanting to broaden your cross-cultural knowledge of secondary and tertiary education? Interested in making a positive impact on the future of Chinese students wishing to study abroad? Looking to hone your communication, marketing, and social media skills for the Chinese market?

Due West Education is seeking applications for a full-time, paid internship. The intern would fully integrate with the current team of counselors and would collaborate on various projects with different teams. The Due West office is conveniently located in Beijing’s Central Business District.

Internship Description:

The responsibilities of the Due West Education intern will include:

• Conducting research on American undergraduate school programs

• Coordinating research projects on the Chinese education system and relevant policies

  • Assisting in the editing process, such as providing direct feedback to Due West students

• Tutoring and counseling Due West students

• Assisting in curriculum development and classroom instruction

• Utilizing social networking sites to spread the word about Due West Education to potential clients

• Assisting with marketing initiatives by writing and editing content and assisting with layout and design

• Collaborating with other members of the Undergraduate Team on additional projects

By the end of the internship, the Due West Education intern will have: gained exposure to a start-up environment, learned a great deal about Chinese consumers in the international education market, and contributed to the development of programs and curricula that will be used to help generations of future students achieve academic success.

Interns looking to learn or improve their Mandarin Chinese language skills will be provided with a tutor.

Qualifications:

The ideal intern candidate will have the following:

  • Marketing or research experience

  • Writing and research skills

• Strong communication and organizational skills

• Strong work ethic, accountability, and ability to multi-task

• Mandarin Chinese language skills are encouraged, but not required. (We will consider applications from candidates who are not proficient in Mandarin Chinese.)

• A familiarity with American and/or Chinese social networking sites

Student Payment:

150 RMB per day
