Summer Education Consultant Intern- CEO Beijing

This internship is offered through the Columbia Experience Overseas (CEO) program.  To learn more about CEO, go to http://www.careereducation.columbia.edu/findajob/cce-internship/ceo.  All CEO 2017 internships will be posted on LionSHARE during the Fall 2016 semester and January 2017 on a rolling basis.  To find CEO internship postings, search under the Internships tab on LionSHARE, and use the “Label” function. There are at least two required components to all CEO position applications and potentially more as requested by each employer as outlined below :

The following documents must be submitted through LionSHARE for each position of interest:

  1. Resume
  2. Transcript (This is your spring course schedule which you should access by logging onto Student Services Online, clicking on “My Schedule” and copying and pasting your Spring 2017 course schedule into a Microsoft Word Document. The schedule should show your full name, your school, your Spring 2017 Courses, and your enrollment status.)
  3. Cover Letter (if required, click Apply Now and check for required documents)
  4. Other materials (ex: Writing Sample, etc. if required, click Apply Now and check for required documents)

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with Senior Consultants to help guide students through the college application process – plan their application strategy, advise them on school lists, brainstorm and critique college application essays, and coach their interview skills
- Mentor students in our Guidance program - help them find direction, boost their confidence, develop their interests, seek internships, apply for summer programs
- Teach small, discussion-based seminars to help students develop core academic and people skills
- Market AIC services to potential clients in seminars, one-on-one meetings, and other initiatives
- Contribute to academic and business development projects with HR, marketing, and other departments

Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled at a top 30 ranked US college or university
- Energetic and self-motivated personality with a passion for education and a heart of service
- Fluency in English, demonstrated by superior writing, critical analysis, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:
- Fluency or some understanding of Mandarin Chinese is a plus, but not required
- Previous college consulting experience, teaching, mentorship or student counseling experience
- Significant evidence of providing opportunity and/or contributing to a community

Student Payment:

5000 RMB Monthly Stipend
