Summer Assistant Buyer-CEO Seoul

This internship is offered through the Columbia Experience Overseas (CEO) program. To learn more about CEO, go to http://www.careereducation.columbia.edu/findajob/cce-internship/ceo. All CEO 2017 internships will be posted on LionSHARE during the Fall 2016 semester and January 2017 on a rolling basis. To find CEO internship postings, search under the Internships tab on LionSHARE, and use the “Label” function. You may apply to up to eight (8) positions of interest across all CEO locations (Amman, Beijing, Hong Kong, London, Mumbai, Shanghai, Seoul, and Singapore).  Having your resume and cover letter reviewed by a CCE counselor is strongly recommended before applying. There are at least two required components to all CEO position applications and potentially more as requested by each employer as outlined below :

The following documents must be submitted through LionSHARE for each position of interest:

  1. Resume
  2. Transcript (This is your spring course schedule which you should access by logging onto Student Services Online, clicking on “My Schedule” and copying and pasting your Spring 2017 course schedule into a Microsoft Word Document. The schedule should show your full name, your school, your Spring 2017 Courses, and your enrollment status.)
  3. Cover Letter (if required, click Apply Now and check for required documents)
  4. Other materials (ex: Writing Sample, etc. if required, click Apply Now and check for required documents)

The CEO program runs June 12- August 4, 2017.  Submit your completed applications via LionSHARE by Sunday, February 12, 2017.

Internship Description:

The Assistant Buyer assists with the procurement of merchandise for the business area and assists with the administrative activity required to maintain a constant and adequate flow of merchandise to the stores.

1) Responsibilities
•Assist the buyer with the development of merchandise assortments, sales, and inventory plans for assigned merchandise departments.
•Work closely with the buyer to balance store inventories and build appropriate store assortment models to maximize individual store performance
•Communicate with the store management regarding store inventories
•Track deliveries, and transfers
•Communicate product knowledge to stores


2) Qualifications
•Strong interest in our brands and fashion industry
•Must be fluent in Korean (both verbal and written)
•Proficient in Microsoft Excel and knowledgeable in Microsoft Word
