Summer Intern- CEO Hong Kong

This internship is offered through the Columbia Experience Overseas (CEO) program. To learn more about CEO, go to http://www.careereducation.columbia.edu/findajob/cce-internship/ceo. All CEO 2017 internships will be posted on LionSHARE during the Fall 2016 semester and January 2017 on a rolling basis. To find CEO internship postings, search under the Internships tab on LionSHARE, and use the “Label” function. You may apply to up to eight (8) positions of interest across all CEO locations (Amman, Beijing, Hong Kong, London, Mumbai, Shanghai, Seoul, and Singapore).  Having your resume and cover letter reviewed by a CCE counselor is strongly recommended before applying. There are at least two required components to all CEO position applications and potentially more as requested by each employer as outlined below :

The following documents must be submitted through LionSHARE for each position of interest:

  1. Resume
  2. Transcript (This is your spring course schedule which you should access by logging onto Student Services Online, clicking on “My Schedule” and copying and pasting your Spring 2017 course schedule into a Microsoft Word Document. The schedule should show your full name, your school, your Spring 2017 Courses, and your enrollment status.)
  3. Cover Letter (if required, click Apply Now and check for required documents)
  4. Other materials (ex: Writing Sample, etc. if required, click Apply Now and check for required documents)

The CEO program runs June 12- August 4, 2017. Submit your completed applications via LionSHARE by Sunday, February 12, 2017.

Internship Description:

- An orientation program covering an introduction to Sino Group, meeting with the executives and site visits to provide you with a general understanding of the Group’s business.
- Functional attachment where you become an integral member of a major department of the Group that matches your learning preferences/career interests, such as:
­ Property Leasing and Management
­ Sales & Marketing,
­ Retail Marketing & Promotions, or
­ Corporate Communications
­Roles and responsibilities will be subjected to the decisions and arrangements of the department heads.
- Valuable practical experience where you can contribute and demonstrate your talent through involvement with a variety of projects/assignments ranging from property leasing, market research, customer loyalty programs, activity planning and event management, shopping mall promotion, quality management, customer service enhancement and environmental sustainability.
- Opportunity to meet and network with summer interns coming from other local and overseas universities.
- A group assignment related to Sino Group’s core business that allows you to maximize your learning during the internship period.
- Site visits and departmental briefings throughout the internship period so you can acquire a fuller understanding of the Group’s businesses.
- Direct coaching from experienced managers.
- Summary of your contribution, learning, observations and recommendations for business improvement through end-of-internship presentations to senior executives.
- Valuable feedback from your attachment supervisor through end-of-internship formal performance appraisals to recapitulate your achievements, strengths and areas for improvement.

2) Desired Skills/qualifications

- A keen interest in the real estate industry.
- A strong passion to expand your horizons and gain a fruitful working experience with Sino Group.
- Creativity, initiative, team spirit and a good learning attitude.
- Courage to challenge the status quo.
- A drive for continuous improvement.
- Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Chinese.
- Command of Cantonese is highly desirable for you to be able to maximize learning during the internship period. Putonghua would be an advantage.
- Possession of some knowledge about the real estate market in Hong Kong would be an advantage.

Student Payment: HKD 8,000/Month
