Summer 2020 Natural Catastrophe Analytics Intern - CEO London
This internship is offered through the Columbia Experience Overseas (CEO) program. To learn more about CEO, go to http://www.careereducation.columbia.edu/findajob/cce-internship/ceo. All CEO 2020 internships will be posted on LionSHARE during the Fall 2019 semester and January 2020 on a rolling basis. Company Job Description:
Support the Non-Life Analytics team on various research projects and internal/external communications relating to natural catastrophes. A successful candidate should have some experience and demonstrable interest in natural hazards, climate change, tropical cyclones, wildfires, etc... An ideal candidate will have experience connected to the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory or other Climate research/courses (i.e. https://science.fas.columbia.edu/climate-response/). Any specialisation in tropical meteorology specifically is strongly preferred.
Required skills: coding (R, Python); written communication (to produce internal "cat alert" summaries)
Language skills: Japanese could be handy, but not required

The CEO program runs June 15- August 7, 2020. Students must participate for the entire duration of the program. Submit your completed applications via LionSHARE by Sunday, February 2, 2020.
