Summer 2019 Communications Intern – CEO London

CEO Program Description:
This internship is offered through the Columbia Experience Overseas (CEO) program. To learn more about CEO, go to http://www.careereducation.columbia.edu/findajob/cce-internship/ceo. All CEO 2019 internships will be posted on LionSHARE during the Fall 2018 semester and January 2019 on a rolling basis. To find CEO internship postings, search under the Internships tab on LionSHARE, and use the “Label” function. Summary:
The internship is on the marketing communications side of the business. During your time here, you can expect to rotate between different teams, supporting them in their day to day client work.

Description:
Interns will be required to work Monday to Friday from 9am-6pm, with a 5.30pm finish on Friday's. The dress code in the office is business wear. The position pays the UK’s national minimum wage.

Responsibilities will include:
- Analysing financial and asset management media for news trends
- Clipping and summarising client press coverage
- Helping identify specific journalists and media opportunities to engage on behalf of our client base
- Contributing to or leading research projects
- Writing first draft press release and briefing notes
- Helping organise events
- Blogging
- Strategy
- Collaborating with the design team and other marketers
- Creating content for website/e-mail outs/social media/blogs

Profile:
Candidate requirements:
- Written work is engaging and accurate
- Shows more than one type of writing style-- for example, casual tone as well as formal
- Good verbal communication skills
- An excellent grasp of the English language, both written and spoken, is required

Other considerations:
- Commercial awareness
- Teamwork
- Has or will develop more confidence
- Ability to cope with pressure and work to tight deadlines
- Good general organisation / project management skills
- Networking skills
- Shows initiative
Although not compulsory, it would be advantageous to include a recent writing sample in your application

Required Components:
There are at least two required components to all CEO position applications and potentially more as requested by each employer as outlined below:

  2. Transcript (This is your spring course schedule which you should access by logging onto Student Services Online, clicking on “My Schedule” and copying and pasting your Spring 2019 course schedule into a Microsoft Word Document. The schedule should show your full name, your school, your Spring 2019 Courses, and your enrollment status.)
  3. Cover Letter (if required - click ‘Apply Now’ and check for required documents)
  4. Other materials (ex: Writing Sample, etc. if required - click ‘Apply Now’ and check for required documents)
The CEO program runs June 10- August 2, 2019. Students must participate for the entire duration of the program. Submit your completed applications via LionSHARE by Sunday, February 10, 2019.
