Summer 2019 Non-Profit Intern - CEO Mumbai

CEO Program Description:
This internship is offered through the Columbia Experience Overseas (CEO) program. To learn more about CEO, go to http://www.careereducation.columbia.edu/findajob/cce-internship/ceo. All CEO 2019 internships will be posted on LionSHARE during the Fall 2018 semester and January 2019 on a rolling basis. To find CEO internship postings, search under the Internships tab on LionSHARE, and use the “Label” function. Company Job Description:
Mumbai Mobile Creches (MMC) is looking for a motivated, responsible, self-directed individual who is interested in gaining significant hands-on experience as an intern, working at a grass-root level within the non-profit sector. The intern should be open and willing to assume responsibilities in various departments of our organisation, with a special focus on fundraising & communication as well as research and development. Their responsibilities will include:
•             Analyse programme data and generate analytical reports
•             Propose ways to demonstrate MMC’s impact using quantitative and qualitative indicators
•             Assist in compiling and editing MMC’s in-house publications such as newsletter and annual report
•             Visual representation of data in the form of infographics and other formats for the annual report
•             Assist in compiling and editing programme reports
•             Drafting articles, blog posts, promotional materials and press releases and create various communications materials vital to MMC’s operations.
•             Writing funding proposals for potential companies and funding organizations.
•             Develop strategies to encourage new or increased contributions
•             Write reports or prepare presentations to communicate fundraising program data
•             Document motivating stories, making short impact video’s for organisation
•             Developing communication materials for upcoming fundraising events such as the marathon, online fundraising campaigns, etc.
•             Social media management (Facebook, Twitter)
•             The intern may also be required to provide assistance with other jobs and responsibilities as needed and as mutually agreed upon by both parties

Desired skills & qualifications
•             Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree with demonstrated academic achievement
•             Ability to work independently, self-driven and with a pro-active work attitude
•             Strong writing, editing, proofreading skills
•             Strong design skills in creating layouts, infographics and other formats to present data  
•             Ability to work with changing priorities and exercise strong quality control over own work
•             Ability to work well in a team environment and in an open office format with little personal privacy
•             Candidate must be understanding, flexible and adaptable to our grassroots style of operations
•             Strong communication and networking skills
•             Excellent command of the English language
•             A command of Hindi or Marathi is useful but not necessary.

Required Components:
There are at least two required components to all CEO position applications and potentially more as requested by each employer as outlined below:

  2. Transcript (This is your spring course schedule which you should access by logging onto Student Services Online, clicking on “My Schedule” and copying and pasting your Spring 2019 course schedule into a Microsoft Word Document. The schedule should show your full name, your school, your Spring 2019 Courses, and your enrollment status.)
  3. Cover Letter (if required - click ‘Apply Now’ and check for required documents)
  4. Other materials (ex: Writing Sample, etc. if required - click ‘Apply Now’ and check for required documents)
The CEO program runs June 10- August 2, 2019. Students must participate for the entire duration of the program. Submit your completed applications via LionSHARE by Sunday, February 10, 2019.
