Summer 2019 Development & Communications Intern- CEO Amman

CEO Program Description:
This internship is offered through the Columbia Experience Overseas (CEO) program. To learn more about CEO, go to http://www.careereducation.columbia.edu/findajob/cce-internship/ceo. All CEO 2019 internships will be posted on LionSHARE during the Fall 2018 semester and January 2019 on a rolling basis. To find CEO internship postings, search under the Internships tab on LionSHARE, and use the “Label” function. You may apply to up to eight (8) positions of interest across all CEO locations. Company Job Description:
Under the direct supervision of the Development and Communications Manager in Amman, the Development and Communications Intern will be responsible to assist in the implementation of PNT’s communication strategies. The Intern will support the organization’s communication objectives in terms of acceptance, visibility, and advocacy. In addition, the Intern will assist with Business Development including proposal writing for grants, identifying potential sources of funding locally and regionally, and developing and supporting fundraising campaigns.

Potential Tasks:
- Developing and Managing Crowdfunding Campaign
- Identify new sources of funding (regional) database
- Support Fundraising Event (management and planning of)
- Proposal Writing for specific grants
- Develop and manage content for PNT’s social media platforms (FB, Twitter, Instagram)

Desired Skills/Qualifications:
• Strong communication skills
• Excellent English writing skills
• Arabic language a plus but not mandatory
• Ability to work as a team yet work independently
• Strong experience in using social media platforms
• Creative and Dynamic
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment

Required Components:
There are at least two required components to all CEO position applications and potentially more as requested by each employer as outlined below:

  1. Resume
  2. Transcript (This is your spring course schedule which you should access by logging onto Student Services Online, clicking on “My Schedule” and copying and pasting your Spring 2019 course schedule into a Microsoft Word Document. The schedule should show your full name, your school, your Spring 2019 Courses, and your enrollment status.)
  3. Cover Letter (if required - click ‘Apply Now’ and check for required documents)
  4. Other materials (ex: Writing Sample, etc. if required - click ‘Apply Now’ and check for required documents)
The CEO program runs June 9 – August 1, 2019. Students must participate for the entire duration of the program.  Submit your completed applications via LionSHARE by Sunday, February 10, 2019.
