Spring Free Arts Day Corporate Sponsorship Intern - CAE

This internship is offered through the Columbia Arts Experience (CAE). This is a CCE Sponsored Internship Program in which interns participate in professional development programming alongside their internship. This includes attending a Pre-program training, Mid-semester dinner, and end-of-program Reflection session as well as completion of a reflection project. These elements will support success in the internship experience itself, help students learn more about the related industry or type of work, as well as help students prepare for and plan next steps after the experience. Internship Description:
The Corporate Programs Intern will work closely with the Manager of Corporate Programming, who is responsible for finding all Free Arts Day (FAD) corporate sponsors The Intern will conduct research, contribute to ongoing Salesforce database improvement, assist with program strategy, and support FAD corporate events. The Corporate Programs Intern will gain a solid overview of how a nonprofit identifies, cultivates, and partners with corporate sponsors, and how the program and fundraising side of a nonprofit work in partnership. This is a terrific opportunity for a student interested in corporate social responsibility, nonprofit fundraising, and corporate/nonprofit partnerships.

Responsibilities will include:
*Corporate Sponsor Research (research leads; conduct outreach to existing sponsors on their volunteer paid time off and matching contributions policies; research why past sponsors have not returned; follow up on cold leads from past FADs and Art Parties; research organizations that connect NYC corporations to nonprofits and make sure they have up to date information of Free Arts).
*Salesforce Data Support (including: clean up corporate sponsor data, ensure that all Salesforce Accounts have main contacts listed, addresses, and follow up tasks/next steps; link all FAD Sponsors to their appropriate Accounts; assist with volunteer and children’s surveys data entry and analysis).
*Strategy: Envision a way for us to thank and acknowledge our corporate partners mid year.
*Support Free Arts Day Corporate Volunteer Events and volunteer fairs

Skills/Qualifications
*Detail oriented and highly organized
*Willing to do thorough research and dig deep
*Comfortable talking to corporate sponsors on the phone and in person
*Proactive and takes initiative
*A quick learner at computer skills - we'll be using databases (eTapestry, Salesforce) and Google Drive throughout the internship

Application Instructions:

This position is part of the CAE program. All 2018 spring internships will be posted on LionSHARE during the Fall 2017 semester on a rolling basis beginning in late September. (Search for the label "CAE" under the “Labels” field in LionShare to view all program positions.) You may apply to up to three (3) positions of interest in the CAE program. You must be in good academic and judicial standing with Columbia University to be eligible to participate in the program.

There are at least two required components to all CAE position applications and potentially more as requested by each employer. The following documents must be submitted through LionSHARE for each position of interest:

  1. Resume
  2. Transcript (This is your Fall 2017 course schedule which you should access by logging onto Student Services Online, clicking on “My Schedule” and copying and pasting your Fall 2017 course schedule into a Microsoft Word Document. The schedule should show your full name, your school, your Fall 2017 Courses, and your enrollment status.)
  3. Cover Letter (if required - click Apply Now and check for required documents)
  4. Other materials (ex: Writing Sample, etc. if required - click Apply Now and check for required documents)

CAE Internships run from January 22nd – April 13th. Submit your completed applications via LionSHARE by Sunday, October 29, 2017.
