Spring Writing Intern - CAE

This internship is offered through the Columbia Arts Experience (CAE). This is a CCE Sponsored Internship Program in which interns participate in professional development programming alongside their internship. This includes attending a Pre-program training, Mid-semester dinner, and end-of-program Reflection session as well as completion of a reflection project. These elements will support success in the internship experience itself, help students learn more about the related industry or type of work, as well as help students prepare for and plan next steps after the experience. Positions in this program offer a $600 stipend for the spring semester internship. To learn more about the CAE, go to https://www.careereducation.columbia.edu/programs/columbia-arts-experience

Internship Description:
uInterview isn’t your typical celebrity news website. We believe strongly in the ability of video to empower people to tell their own stories — whether that’s a Hollywood celebrity, athlete, politican or a person in the news. uInterview has some of the best access to newsmakers you’ll find anywhere. Since we launched in 2008, uInterview has produced over 3000 exclusive video interviews and counting.

uInterview.com, our sister site uSports.org and new site uPolitics.com, are seeking hard-working, self-starting, tech- and pop-culture savvy editorial interns to write for the sites in our New York City office. Interns will be given significant hands-on editorial training and responsibilities. Writing projects will include researching and writing posts for our the News, Reviews and Blog sections. Opportunities to pitch and conduct interviews will also be given. Interns will learn the fundamentals of working on a website from search engine optimization to sizing and compressing photos.

– Previous experience writing at a website or on a personal blog using a WordPress CMS is helpful but not required
– Strong interest in pop culture and social media (Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Google+ and Pinterest) is helpful
– Interns will work 15-20 hours per week in our offices
– Sophomore, Juniors and Seniors are welcome to apply
– Laptop is required
- Interns are encouraged to work until the end of April to have a full experience of the opportunity
