Spring Content Marketing- SIP

Job Description:

This internship is offered through the Startup Internship Program (SIP). This is a CCE Sponsored Internship Program in which interns participate in professional development programming alongside their internship. This includes attending a Pre-program training, Mid-semester dinner, and end-of-program Reflection session as well as completion of a reflection project. These elements will support success in the internship experience itself, help students learn more about the related industry or type of work, as well as help students prepare for and plan next steps after the experience. Application Instructions:

This position is part of the SIP program. All 2018 spring internships will be posted on LionSHARE during the Fall 2017 semester on a rolling basis beginning in late September. (Search for the label "SIP" under the “Labels” field in LionShare to view all program positions.) You may apply to up to three (3) positions of interest in the SIP program. You must be in good academic and judicial standing with Columbia University to be eligible to participate in the program.

There are at least two required components to all SIP position applications and potentially more as requested by each employer. The following documents must be submitted through LionSHARE for each position of interest:

  1. Resume
  2. Transcript (This is your Fall 2017 course schedule which you should access by logging onto Student Services Online, clicking on “My Schedule” and copying and pasting your Fall 2017 course schedule into a Microsoft Word Document. The schedule should show your full name, your school, your Fall 2017 Courses, and your enrollment status.)
  3. Cover Letter (if required - click Apply Now and check for required documents)
  4. Other materials (ex: Writing Sample, etc. if required - click Apply Now and check for required documents)

SIP Internships run from January 22nd – April 13th. Submit your completed applications via LionSHARE by Sunday, October 29, 2017.

Content Marketing Architect
We are looking for a prolific and talented content creator to take charge of our content marketing initiatives by architecting and implementing a strategy. As a content marketing architect intern, you will strategize about our content marketing strategy and build upon our existing one, and write and produce various types of downloadable content and blog regularly, to expand our company’s digital footprint, awareness, subscribers, and leads. This role requires a high level of creativity, attention to detail, and project management skills.

Responsibilities You’ll Own and Rock:
-Blog on an ongoing basis to support and promote our offers and to attract site visitors through search, social media, and email subscribers.
-Create 2-4 free resources each month to drive leads, subscribers, awareness, and/or other important metrics (examples include ebooks, whitepapers, infographics, guides, templates, etc.).
-Grow our customer base by providing them with regular, helpful content that’s aligned with their needs and interests.
-Learn about SEO optimization and ways to 1) create content to optimize search results, as well as 2) intrinsically bake that into content you’re creating.
-Identify and implement ways to spread content awareness, whether through reaching out to other industry constituents to get eyeballs on the content, coordinating with our social media lead to get content shared, etc
-Collaborate with designers, product marketers, sales professionals, and external influencers and industry experts to produce relevant content that meets the needs of both key stakeholders and our audience.

Experience and Requirements:
-Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
-Strong time management and organizational skills
-Ability to understand our product and create content to share information that’s engaging to our existing community and potential customers
-Ability to dive into SEO optimization and become an expert on best practices
-A dual-minded approach: You’re highly creative and an excellent writer but can also be process-driven, think scale, and rely on data to make decisions.
-Proficiency with a design program (Adobe Creative Suite, like Photoshop or inDesign) is a plus, but definitely not a hard requirement
